Strategic Purchaser - Electric Motors & Electromechanical Assemblies

Location: Greater Stuttgart Area, Germany
€15-20M Spend Responsibility | Strategic Role | High Autonomy

We are supporting a leading global industrial business near Stuttgart in appointing a Strategic Purchaser for one of its most critical commodities: electric motors and electromechanical assemblies.

This commodity sits at the heart of the product portfolio and has a direct impact on performance, innovation, and competitiveness. The role offers genuine ownership, visibility, and decision-making authority within a flat and agile structure.

Your Responsibilities

Strategic Commodity Ownership

  • Develop and implement the global product group strategy

  • Analyse international procurement markets and technological trends

  • Conduct make-or-buy analyses and apply TCO and cost structure methodologies

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Build, qualify and strategically develop an international supplier portfolio

  • Lead negotiations on framework agreements, pricing and long-term partnerships

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Product Management

  • Support escalations and contribute to supply chain risk management

Cost & Project Responsibility

  • Drive benchmarking and should-cost initiatives

  • Identify and realise sustainable savings potential

  • Contribute to global optimisation and development projects

  • Ensure achievement of cost, quality and delivery targets

Your Profile

  • Strong background in strategic purchasing within an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Experience managing significant spend and international supplier networks

  • Solid technical affinity; category expertise in electric motors is advantageous but not essential

  • Confident negotiator with strong stakeholder engagement skills

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership
