They are currently managing several high-profile projects and are seeking an experienced interim professional to strengthen their procurement function during a critical period.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Interim Purchasing Manager - Directs to join our client's team in Stuttgart or Frankfurt. This role will focus on direct materials, category management, and project-specific procurement. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, able to make fast, strategic decisions, and maintain strong supplier relationships while delivering project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead purchasing activities for direct materials across key categories, including mechanical components, electrical systems, and raw materials.
Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to ensure timely sourcing and delivery for ongoing client projects.
Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance against quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Implement category strategies and identify cost-saving or risk-mitigation opportunities.
Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies and German/EU regulations.
Provide interim leadership to the purchasing team, ensuring smooth operations during the contract period.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in direct purchasing, preferably in industrial, automotive, or manufacturing sectors.
Proven experience in category management and project-based procurement.
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
Able to integrate quickly into ongoing projects and deliver immediate results.
