I am currently recruiting for a Purchasing Director will lead and manage the company's procurement strategy, ensuring cost-effective purchasing of all goods and services. They will build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate high-value contracts, drive cost savings, and implement best-in-class purchasing policies and processes to support the company's operational and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the company's purchasing strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team, setting clear objectives and driving high performance.
  • Identify and develop strategic supplier relationships; negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements.
  • Analyse market trends to identify new sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the purchasing function.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and supplier reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Continuously improve purchasing processes and implement systems to increase efficiency and transparency.
  • Manage supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in purchasing/procurement, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in Far East sourcing, contract re-negotiation
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with a track record of delivering cost savings.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
