Are you a sharp negotiator with a passion for food and global markets? I am recruiting for a results-driven Food Trader to join a fast-paced team and help them buy and sell food products across international and domestic markets.
What You'll Do
- Build and grow relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Negotiate buying and selling deals to maximise profit.
- Spot market opportunities and act fast.
- Manage orders from purchase to delivery.
- Keep up to date with prices, trends, and competitor activity.
To source, purchase, and sell food products (meat or Seafood) in domestic and/or international markets, ensuring profitability, compliance with regulations, and the development of strong supplier and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Trading & Sales
- Negotiate purchase and sales contracts for food products.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with suppliers and buyers.
- Monitor market trends, prices, and competitor activity to maximise profit margins.
- Manage stock levels, orders, and deliveries to meet customer requirements.
- Market Analysis
- Research global and regional food market conditions.
- Analyse supply, demand, and price fluctuations to inform trading decisions.
- Prepare regular reports on market developments.
- Relationship Management
- Maintain and grow relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and customers.
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to network and gather market intelligence.
- Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all transactions comply with food safety standards, import/export regulations, and company policies.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to resolve any product or shipment issues.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in trading, wholesale, or food commodities.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Knowledge of food markets and import/export processes.
- Organised, commercial, and quick-thinking.
