URGENT - Material Manager (£40K) - South West London

A Global Medical company has an urgent requirement to hire a Material Manager, who will take ownership of and be responsible for the complete purchase ordering service across two major sites, ensuring all areas have the requisite amount of stock.

Location: South West London

Role: Material Manager

Salary: Up to £40K

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a centralised purchase and distribution for both clinical and non-clinical stock
  • Review current processes regarding materials where appropriate implement improvements to ensure efficient consolidated ordering of stock to reduce the stock holdings
  • Set up and maintain minimum, maximum and reorder levels across multiple departments
  • Work with external suppliers to maximise the efficiency of the supply chain
  • Provide internal advice on procurement and logistics to other departments and participate in inter-departmental working as required

Experience required:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a stores or warehouse environment (essential)
  • Team management experience (essential)
  • Contract negotiations with suppliers (essential)
  • Understanding of best practice in stores & material management (essential)
  • MCIPS & Degree (desirable)
  • Knowledge of medical stock (desirable)
  • Work in a complex multi-site management of stock (desirable)
