Role: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Rotherham (4 days on site 1 day from home)

Salary - £65,000 + £5,000 Company car or Cash allowance + Bonus

I am working with an eco-friendly/sustainable organisation who are looking to add a Supply Chain Manager to their function for a large project-based part of the company. The ideal individual will have 2-3 years or more experience as a Supply Chain Manager within a social housing/construction or refurbishment environment, will enjoy working on large projects with experience of sub-contractors.

The Supply Chain Manager will lead the delivery of the Regional Supply Chain Strategy. Ensuring that the Regions initiatives are implemented in a timely and highly professional manner. The Region is to be a desirable contractor that its Supply Chain want to work for. Proposing key business Supply Chain decisions, collaboratively with the Operating Units to support their Supply Chain requirements across a range of work streams. Provide monthly Supply Chain reports covering critical issues and proposing actions. Management of strong relationships with the Divisions Supply Chain, influencing teamwork and co-operation across internal departments.

Role: (Reporting into Commercial Director)

  • Devise strategies to engage with the Supply Chain to achieve a positive outcome.
  • To identify sub-contractors (new and existing), with suitable skills and expertise to be appropriate for bidding or delivering projects, particularly in new areas.
  • Ensure sub-contractors have sufficient financial stability, planning and capacity.
  • Lead Divisional and Group initiatives for the Central Region.
  • Take a proactive approach and provide support and guidance necessary to minimise Supply Chain disputes.
  • Engage with the Operating Units Senior Management, and agree specific requirement needs.
  • To ensure sub-contractors selection follows the strategy and select an appropriate Supply Chain for each bid including operational, commercial and Health and Safety aspects.
  • Support the Bid Teams with engagement and support from key trades.
  • Prepare business proposals to improve Supply Chain management seeking board approval.
  • Manage the generation of benchmark information on sub-contractor performance through KPIs and other previously used methods.
  • Support the Operating Unit Regional Directors and Commercial Leads requirements.
  • Establish working relationships with Operational Teams & provide key supply chain information for incorporation into Board reports.

About you:

  • Proven track record of meeting and introducing the business to potential new Supply Chain members and communicating the business's values and strategy.
  • Previous sub-contractor experience in Supply Chain role with ideally social housing background. (But not essential)
  • Builds strong, effective supplier relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to instil trust into the team while working to tight deadlines.
  • Commercially astute with a deep awareness of the specialities and customer programs provided.
  • IT skills - MS Office, Excel, Project, Word etc.
