Our client is one of the world's largest manufacturers, with turnover of more than $10bn and over 50,000 employees they are truly a global business. Currently in the midst of a huge transformation to revitalise their manufacturing and Supply Chain processes, they are seeking an experienced Inbound Logistics and Material Handling Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the design, optimisation and implementation of processes for material handling in factories, from Goods Receiving in the inbound warehouses to Point of Use at the assembly line according to company standards
  • Act as the point of contact for all aspects of global inbound and Supply Chain processes
  • Provide knowledge of digital applications such as RFID, material tracing and FIFO methodologies
  • Support and participate to any needed Global Re-engineering projects with focus on material flows improvements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Experience within Manufacturing or Supply Chain functional areas
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing and logistics processes and Lean tools
  • Ability to work in an international environment, to cooperate with colleagues worldwide and work in a remote organisation
  • Project management and delivery experience
  • Demonstrable leadership skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Self-motivated, hands on leader with a willingness to deliver tactical execution of strategy to deliver results
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong experience in remote management & virtual collaboration
  • Experience working in manufacturing, distribution and/or transportation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain management systems
  • Experience with, and commitment to, lean manufacturing and supply chain concepts
  • A passion for connecting data and making business conclusions and recommendations
  • Proven ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced, constantly evolving work environment
  • Quick thinker with ability to pick up and treat new information rapidly
  • Ability to work independently and produce results

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION:

  • This position requires over 50% communications with external and internal customers, helping them trouble shoots any problems
  • This position requires the willingness and ability to travel, up to 50%
