Role: Sub Contract Manager

Location: Luton, Hybrid Working Available

Salary: up to £70K + attractive benefits

The Role

Acting as a purchasing agent on behalf of the MOD you will be heavily involved in products at concept stage working closely with research organisations. Sub contract management across services associated with product development, technological innovation, front end life-cycle and an ability to translate gaps in contract development to business risk, you will liaise with customers and suppliers, managing sub contracts accordingly. You will play a critical role in drafting contracts form a legal, commercial and compliance perspective. You will have a significant impact and responsibility across overall supplier strategy and this involves 99% prep production phase.

Key Skills and Experience:

To be a key member of the procurement team as a sub contract manager with in-depth knowledge of appropriate legislation and contract management. Contract development and stakeholder management are critical in this role.

Experience gained from heavily regulated industry such as Aerospace, Nuclear or Defence, Automotive or Medical will enable you to successfully navigate the procurement of technical services, systems, software or components all in line with wider group procurement sourcing projects.

Proactively driving the sourcing process you will be instrumental in identifying risk and opportunities, and for successfully working collaboratively with key stakeholders to achieve objectives. Maintaining awareness of the restrictions, controls and accreditation's that are placed upon suppliers working in a highly regulated environment, ensuring at all times that both sourcing strategies and the incumbent supplier base do not jeopardise or threaten internal compliance.

Construct and lead the contracts and supply chain management Life Cycle Management and understand customer requirements specifically relating to export compliance, restrictions and third party rights for all procured items.

  • Extensive procurement experience across highly regulated industry and effective stakeholder management
  • CIPS qualifications and working knowledge of strategic procurement and procurement best practice
  • Experienced in the manufacturing or technology sectors, managing associated sub-contractors and suppliers in support of all strategic bids and project requirements, especially compliance.

SC Clearance is required for this role.
