Are you an ambitious Sourcing Manager specialising in Logistics and Supply Chain looking for an exciting and challenging role? Our client, a FTSE 100 market leader seeks to recruit a Sourcing Manager to take a key role in their Procurement function. Working alongside & reporting directly to the Head of Procurement. This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated and decisive individual taking end to end ownership of the commercial and sourcing strategy for the category.
Role:
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen to create clear and compelling category plans, balancing cost, quality and risk. Category areas will consist of 3pl management of warehousing, equipment buying and transport
- Looking at supply chain integration opportunities and delivering transformational change across UK sites
- Independently and autonomously execute these category plans using strategic souring methodology to deliver best commercial and operational outcomes including cost and working capital improvement
- Lead cross - functional teams to land business change in a considered but determined way.
- Confidently deal with difficult conversations and negotiations with key suppliers and senior stakeholders alike
- Be a critical business partner to stakeholders, challenging and supporting as appropriate
- Act as a point of escalation for the business in managing the risk and operational performance of suppliers as is necessary
- Build productive and mutually beneficial relationships with your key suppliers to identify opportunities and ideas
- Contribute to the overall success of the Department, acting as a role model for other members of the team
- Flexibly support the delivery of projects across other categories as required, enabling procurement to focus on those areas that can deliver the most value
Experience:
- 3 - 5 years' experience in Procurement or relevant commercial experience
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Confident negotiation skills
- Organisation and effective project management skills and influence
- Experience working across an FM / Logistics category - understanding the total cost of ownership and break down cost
- Understanding risk management -taking into account the whole picture and not just cost
- Strong stakeholder communication skills is key
