Are you a Buyer/Procurement Specialist looking to join a Fortune 500 company who are investing heavily in developing and shaping the procurement leaders of the future?

I'm looking for a proactive and ambitious Buyer with c. 2-3 years' experience within a manufacturing environment to join this global manufacturing business on a permanent basis. With over 5,000 employees and operations in over 20 countries, this business is the number-one manufacturer within their niche. They are well-known globally with a stable and forward-thinking executive team and a highly experienced and influential CPO.

This role reports to the Indirect Procurement Manager for EMEA and works closely with several other site buyers and the central procurement team. You will be responsible for the operational and tactical procurement of various indirect categories for a key manufacturing facility.

This is a broad role where you will manage the tactical procurement across various categories including facilities, maintenance, CAPEX, PPE, technology, and professional services. You will support several key site functions and deliver consistent value and cost savings across their indirect spend portfolio.

Here are some more details on the role:

  • You will manage the end-to-end operational purchasing activities for all indirect categories - this includes tenders, creating POs, managing master data, resolving invoice queries, and following-up orders to manage quality, time and cost metrics and deliverables.
  • You will support various functions to procure a wide range of indirect goods and services proactively and reactively across the site, liaising with global and regional central procurement teams to support these requests.
  • You will work closely to manage and develop a strategic supply base for the site, adopting and promoting preferred suppliers in each category and supporting stakeholders to effectively procure within this supplier base.
  • You will deliver significant cost savings and manage quality and supplier flexibility via developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships and embedding consistent SRM policies.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Ideally 2-3 years' experience in indirect procurement for a manufacturing organisation.
  • End-to-end transactional and operational procurement experience, with knowledge of the relevant systems and processes used including SAP R/3 MM, SAP R/4 HANA, and SAP Ariba.
  • Experience procuring technical indirect services including CAPEX, maintenance, facilities services or similar within a manufacturing environment is ideal, but not essential.
  • An analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail, familiar with conducting spend analysis and reporting activities and then using these to inform strategic plans and roadmaps.
  • A results-driven attitude, focused on proactively solving problems and working in close conjunction with your suppliers and stakeholders to drive forward progress.
  • Ideally you will be degree educated in a relevant discipline (I.E. Business, Economics etc) and either be currently studying or willing to study CIPS.
  • Willingness to travel to sites nationally and occasionally internationally.
