A Stuttgart-based automotive firm specialising in innovative products is in search of a Senior Purchasing Director. This role involves overseeing a global spend of €500 million and directly managing a team of 20 employees. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to transformation and greenfield projects. Such as implementing new digital procurement platform and developing a procurement strategy for a completely new category of goods and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish category sourcing strategies, manage directly cross-functional strategic sourcing teams, negotiate with suppliers, and execute contracts to optimise company's competitive position
  • Drive appropriate relationships with category suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving the optimal solution and cost of ownership that meets the business's goals
  • Responsible for direct and indirect categories
  • Reporting directly to VP
  • 30% travel

Skills Experience Required

  • Relevant degree, MBA is preferred
  • Have minimum of 10-20 years relevant purchasing experience, in automotive indsutry
  • Successful track record in purchasing and negotiations with suppliers globally
  • Experience with purchasing and setting up new teams and greenfield projects
  • Fluent English and German
