Job Summary:

The Clinical Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing the procurement of clinical products and services across healthcare operations. This role ensures value for money, quality, and compliance with healthcare standards and organizational policies. The manager collaborates closely with clinical, finance, and supply chain teams to align procurement strategies with clinical needs and patient care priorities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement:

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies for clinical supplies, equipment, and services.

    • Identify and evaluate suppliers, manage RFP/RFQ processes, and lead contract negotiations.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Work with clinical stakeholders (e.g., physicians, nurses, lab managers) to understand and anticipate clinical requirements.

    • Facilitate clinical product evaluations and trials in collaboration with end-users.

  • Supplier & Contract Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

    • Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contract terms, service levels, and quality standards.

    • Ensure contracts meet regulatory and legal requirements.

  • Cost Optimization & Value Analysis:

    • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining clinical efficacy.

    • Lead value analysis processes to assess cost-effectiveness and clinical appropriateness of products.

  • Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, healthcare regulations, and public procurement laws.

    • Mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, product recalls, or regulatory non-compliance.

  • Reporting & Analytics:

    • Monitor market trends, pricing, and supplier performance.

    • Generate procurement reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior leadership.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Nursing, Healthcare Management, or related field (Master's preferred).

  • Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is highly desirable.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare procurement, preferably in a hospital or clinical environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of clinical products, supply chain systems, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, MHRA, NHS standards if UK-based).

  • Strong negotiation, project management, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Jaggaer).
