Are you an ambitious Senior Procurement Manager with experience managing a high-value European spend portfolio encompassing mission-critical industrial goods and services?

If so, this is an exciting new role in a highly transformational environment, offering the opportunity to work closely with the CPO and Senior Leadership Team to lead a complex centralisation project.

Joining a FTSE 100 manufacturing organisation with significant market share, they saw continued growth throughout the pandemic.

With a highly experienced CPO and a motivated Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with them to implement the new regional procurement strategy across one of their key expenditure categories. This role is posed well to pave the way for further senior leadership opportunities across the organisation.

Role:

You will have complete ownership of the Industrial Goods and Services category across Central and Eastern Europe, covering 18 countries and c. €100mil in expenditure. This portfolio encompasses the mission-critical technical materials and services required to ensure continuous manufacturing operations - MRO, parts, lubricants, PPE etc.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enacting the category strategy across the region. Working in conjunction with country and regional stakeholders, you will proactively develop procurement capabilities across numerous geographies. Furthermore, you will be supported in leading the strategy to centralise this highly dispersed and decentralised portfolio.

You will work in close conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team to define new regional standards and processes, effectively managing upwards and utilising their well-established central procurement function. It is critical that you have in-depth stakeholder management skills for this role.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement for Eastern Europe, this role is ideally based in Vienna, Austria. However, exceptional candidates can potentially be based in either Budapest or Warsaw.

Experience:

  • You will demonstrate a wealth of knowledge in Category Management, with the experience to own, develop and implement strategies across global geographies.
  • Ideally, you will demonstrate procurement experience gained in a complex, multi-faceted manufacturing organisation, with knowledge of similar IGS or CAPEX categories.
  • You will demonstrate a consultative approach to engaging, influencing, and supporting stakeholders of varying seniority and from different cultures.
  • You will be data savvy, with an analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail.
  • Relevant Degree/Masters + CIPS or equivalent

This is a client whom we have worked closely with for several years and who is building a world-class procurement function. They are eager to recruit the right person quickly so please send me your CV to aaron.beesley@1st-executive.com for a chat and further details regarding this role.
