Senior Procurement Director Raw Materials

Salary £90-£110k + 30% Bonus + Excellent Benefits

London with Hybrid (3 days per week with some International travel)

It's a great time to be joining this exciting and constantly evolving organisation which has tripled in size in just a few years and has a dynamic global procurement function. They are looking to appoint a Senior Procurement Director who can help contribute to their ambitions growth journey, therefore if you are looking for an opportunity to help build a success story, you can have a real impact.

Reporting to the Global VP of Procurement, you will develop and implement (with the procurement managers), the sustainable procurement strategy and contracting for raw materials

You will Identify new suppliers and develop existing relationships to deliver competitive advantage, manage risk and value, as well as providing market insights, in particular supply and price risks to support the business unit leadership teams

You will also provide leadership and direction to the strategic raw materials team in Europe.

Key requirements:

  • Procurement professional with a background in (petro)chemicals/oil & gas
  • Experience: Procurement professional, c.5-10 years similar role in (petro)chemicals and commodity price risk management \ Commodity trading.
  • Line Management experience
  • Ideally, knowledge of commodity price risk management/commodity trading
  • Ability to travel c. quarterly, 2 - 3 day trips)

Knowledge & skills:

  • Degree qualified
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills and ability to communicate at all levels and present complex data with clear messaging
  • Commercial astuteness and competence across very high-value and risk contracts
  • Resilience and ability to focus on the main business priorities
  • Ability to listen, consult and evaluate options and trade-off's and make clear data-driven timely decisions and set direction when required
  • Accurate and organised with structured approach to complex and ambiguous tasks
  • Strong (intercultural) communication skills; ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, suppliers and partners.
