An exciting role awaits an experienced professional in the strategic category management for castings and rubber components category in the North-Rhine Westphalia region. This pivotal position offers the chance to lead and develop category strategy, align with regional procurement teams, and drive value and sustainability in the supply chain. The role involves close collaboration with segment and divisional product leaders, operations, and other key stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans that enhance overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive the category strategy for castings and rubber, including strategic sourcing partnerships, leading negotiations, and strategy implementation.

- Global Collaboration: Partner with the Global Category Manager and other regional managers to improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

- Supplier Management: Lead supplier development, supply base consolidation, cost reduction roadmaps, and implement supplier segmentation plans.

- Influence and Alignment: Partner with business segments to influence the strategic direction of the category, ensuring alignment in quality and delivery requirements.

- Performance Tracking: Manage, track, and report key drivers and market trends, establishing countermeasures to adapt to market changes.

- Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the supply chain organisation.

- Reporting: Present strategic sourcing plans, activities, and successes to the Senior Leadership Team.

Expeirence:

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in strategic procurement / category management, including expeirence in castings or rubber components or both.

- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of castings and rubber components, supply base, cost drivers, and market dynamics.

- Global Sourcing: Proven experience with direct material sourcing on a global scale and multi-tier supplier relationship management.

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of SAP, Oracle, and Infor is advantageous.

- Travel: Approximately 25% travel, including international.

- Languages: Proficiency in English and German.
