Procurement Support Officer, Kent, Starting salary £27,055 + benefits

A fantastic opportunity to develop your career where you will work as part of a dynamic specialist Clinical Procurement and Market Management team, supporting the delivery of a strategic Clinical Procurement and Market Management service. In this role, you will lead on low complex procurement projects within a portfolio of Directly Commissioned Clinical Services that delivers high value, improved patient care and cost efficiency savings across the customer base. You will also assist the Head of Procurement in the delivery of the annual work plan, ensuring performance to key milestones and agreed key performance indicators are achieved.

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience of working within a Procurement environment
  • Delivered procurements that complied with EU law and national frameworks
  • Customer relationship management
  • Carried out data analysis
  • Worked with procurement systems and e-solutions
  • Procurement and sourcing responsibility for delivering savings and other softer benefits
  • Ideally you will have assisted in the design and development of legal contract terms and conditions
  • Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues and create some solutions to project and service delivery
  • Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to re-prioritise
  • An understanding of the National NHS agenda and procurement contribution
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems and processes
  • Knowledge of public sector contracting frameworks
  • Understanding of supply chain networks and Frameworks
  • Working Knowledge of Framework agreements and Dynamic Purchasing Systems.
  • Able to build and maintain good working relationships with a broad range of both internal and external stakeholders
  • Car driver/owner or reasonable alternative
  • Ideally you will have a working knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Regulations such as PCR 2015 and Patient Choice and Competition 2013 Regulations
  • It would be desirable for you to work towards registration for full Member of Associate/Student of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
