Role: Strategic Procurement Specialist - 6-month FTC (likely to go permanent following FTC)

Salary: €ompetitive + 20% bonus + Package

Location: Amsterdam, NL

Hybrid: 3 days in the Amsterdam office, 2 days Work from Home

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the leading global manufacturing companies in this exciting strategic procurement role. You'll join an international procurement function with an experienced and welcoming senior leadership team. The organisation has recently transformed its procurement function and allows the successful applicant to progress their career while driving improvements.

The position sits within the Benelux Procurement Operation organization and will be focused on partnering with external Suppliers and internal clients (Operation, Finance, Category Managers). The role is focused on both production (raw materials etc) and non-production categories (IT, HR etc) across the breadth of the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and support Category Management Teams as needed (e.g., strategy input, supplier feedback, local market feedback, etc.)
  • At site level, responsible for implementing global and local Procurement strategies and projects
  • Conduct local market research (suppliers and products) and assist with defining their needs
  • Meet with local suppliers to address site concerns and manage the relation between the operation and the suppliers
  • Conduct and implement sourcing, buying and tactical activities within the defined governance of the operations team
  • Expected to communicate ideas for improvement to internal customers and category leads
  • Follow up on the gains achieved via the internal reporting tool (Provalido)
  • Address cluster/site queries and conduct supplier follow-ups relating to the P2P process
  • Operate according to procurement policies, contracts, procedures, processes, guidelines and regulations
  • Act as business partner and primary point of contact for site/cluster level
  • Build a strong relationship with the business and attend business meetings on-site level

Requirements:

  • Perfect as a second procurement role, so c2+ years of relevant Procurement experience
  • Open to varying category experience
  • Fluent English; Dutch an advantage - though not required
