Role: Procurement Project Manager - Capital Projects
Location: Shanghai, China

Based in Shanghai, you will be part of a forward-thinking team, focused on the delivery of sustainable energy solutions. As a key contributor to the growth of this global business and its journey through procurement transformation you will be responsible for the optimisation and implementation of the project procurement strategy for a major programme which is currently in the design phase. As part of this role, you will manage and build a range of stakeholder relationships both nationally and internationally.
Principal role accountabilities:
- Ownership of the project procurement plan related to Capital Projects
- Represent procurement within the project team and to projects key stakeholders in project governance meetings, providing leadership as required
- Support the Project Manager performance manage FEED consultant
- Lead selection of, and negotiate contract for EPCm contractor
- Ensure project procurement plan is mapped out in full, robust and up to date.
- Ensure the procurement activity for all packages, whether executed by the company or nominated FEED or EPCm consultant are conducted in a competitive and transparent manner and in accordance with project delivery requirements
- Drive procurement of critical & high value packages in a timely manner, negotiating cost savings and mitigating supply risk on the project
- Supporting the Supplier Sustainability Development Programme to ensure supplier complies with requirements for sustainability and ethical corporate behaviour
- Monitor performance of suppliers and support Project Managers to mitigate project risk.
- Provide regular reporting to both the project team and Capital Project Procurement function
Requirements:
- Experience of capital project procurement management gained within industrial, process or construction industry projects
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop internal relationships across organisation
- Experienced in leading and managing a team
- Knowledge of quality standards, tools and processes
- Strong negotiation skills
- Desirable (not essential) - Understanding of IChemE & FIDIC type contract templates
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
