Procurement & Supply Chain Management - £75,000 - £85,000 + 10% bonus (Aldermaston)

Role: Procurement & Supply Chain Manager (Hybrid working)

Location: Aldermaston (Near Reading)

I am currently working with an extremely exciting client of mine who have sustainability and renewable clean energy at the forefront of their mind! Projects are constantly being carried out in different parts of the EPC/Commercial team and the wider business with ambitions to continue growing. The role is based in Aldermaston near Reading and offers a hybrid working model with two days on site and three days at home.

As the Procurement & Supply chain manager you will be involved with several projects within the EPC/Commercial team and liaise with other teams. The ideal candidate will have Energy or Construction/Oil & Gas or Solar PV, or Electrical Batteries industry knowledge but is not essential.

Role:

  • Oversee the development of Category Strategies for each area of responsibility, support, and coach buyers, ensure resource is available from wider business to ensure strategies are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Manage and lead the PCSM team in developing and maintaining Request for Quotation (RFQ, Project Purchase Order (PO) and Sub-Contract (SO) plans and contract documentation in line with bid and project delivery requirements.
  • Establish and lead PCSM strategies to ensure all bid and project contract documentation is incorporated as well as negotiated to include the required flow down of terms and conditions to minimize Company exposure.
  • Lead the team while providing project management processes to follow to ensure all materials are sourced within lowest/best value from suppliers alongside a robust supply chain with future growth/development plans.
  • Responsible for the management of risk, budget and cost on all PO and SO requirements, including the monitoring of expenditures, payment approvals, changes, and negotiation of any disputes for the best position of the Company in accordance to contract provisions.
  • Be responsible to manage any dispute on claims with suppliers and subcontractors with liaison with Project, Legal, etc.
  • Deliver reports required by Project and other functional stakeholders on time and build supplier and subcontractor relationships whilst developing and maintaining knowledge of the supply chain network.
  • Coaching less experienced PSCM Team staff.

About you:

We're looking for candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • Ideally experienced in project environment in previous Procurement & Supply Chain roles.
  • Minimum 5 years Procurement/Supply Chain experience.
  • Significant procurement experience working within a manufacturing/engineering business.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to reduce costs and drive the business unit forward long term.
  • Commercial and contractual management experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills with key influencing skills.
  • Previous Energy, Construction, Solar PV, and BESS experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Advanced influencing, communication, and customer facing skills.
