Procurement Manager - Packaging/Food

Our client is a dynamic and forward-thinking business who are based across multiple sites on a global basis. They are current seeking an experienced individual who has a strong background of Purchasing on a global basis, across Food/ Packaging.

The successful candidate will have the ability to operate effectively within a flexible, fast-paced, environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute category strategies following the category management principles.

Negotiate and execute contracts in line with guidelines and category management principles, and negotiate best route to market

Develop and select suppliers, working closely to ensure value ad and cost efficiencies

Work with Product Management Team to ensure complaints are resolved quickly and NPD items are delivered on time

Work to reduce the total cost and generate sustained value in a spend category while maintaining or improving quality and service levels

Working as part of a team you will ensure correct prioritisation of projects to ensure overall department and company objectives are met

Work with suppliers to improve relationships and deliver efficiencies

Conduct regular visits to suppliers and processors to become an expert in the product area and ensure delivery of continuous improvement

Build strong relationships and strengthen communication with internal and external stakeholders

Person Specification:

You ideally have experience of Purchasing, Food (fresh, ambient, chilled or frozen) and Packaging skills

You will have drive and determination and be able to influence stakeholders with ease
