Procurement Lead IT - Preston - £55K

As the Procurement Lead IT, you will undertake proactive supplier management for key IT Service Providers, including SRM, contract management, escaltions, risk management and leadering goverence forums. Supplier Relationship Management will play a key part in this position within the IT category. This position will be based from Preston on a hybrid basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Proactively manage key IT Service Providers, including overseeing supplier relationships, contract changes, escalations, risk management, and leading governance forums.

  • Project Involvement: Engage in all stages of the IT project lifecycle, from stakeholder and demand management to sourcing, tendering, and contract negotiation.

  • Issue Resolution: Quickly address escalations from internal business stakeholders within the IT community.

  • Program Support: Contribute to a large-scale program aimed at transforming IT procurement within the organisation. This includes transitioning from incumbent suppliers to new providers, requiring excellent stakeholder management and engagement.

  • Leadership Opportunities: Potential for line management responsibilities and opportunities to deputise for the Senior Procurement Manager.

  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and finalize contractual terms, pricing, and service levels on behalf of the organisation.

  • Operational Procurement: Handle aspects of operational procurement, such as requisition and invoice approval.

Your Skills and Experiences:

Essential:

  • Strong commercial and contractual acumen, with experience managing large suppliers and significant spend.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communicator, capable of influencing and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptable and open to change.
  • Experience within Purchasing and Procurement

Desirable:

  • MCIPS qualification or currently studying towards it.
  • Interest in IT/Technology.
