This is the most diverse role I have worked covering a range of direct and indirect categories that you wouldn't find in any other industry. I need you to bring your skill and experience to the table and take this critical leadership role to empower a high performing team and communicate the true value of procurement to the wider business.

Fundamentally operational in focus this role would see you bring your knowledge and expertise to lead a very capable team and build on existing success. You will need to be very strong and adept across people management utilising your emotional intelligence to empower those around you whilst communicating the value of procurement to a diverse variety of stakeholders.

Driving a high performing team with nuanced shared responsibilities you will need to be process driven but pragmatic, developing and inspiring those around you. Collaborative and flexible you will help people fulfil their potential and add real value to the operation. This is a challenging role that requires a soft touch and the extent to which you can obtain the good will of the wider business will determine your success in this position.

Key metrics for success will be:

  • Making sure Procurement is involved in discussions early
  • Being more strategic and long term with outlook
  • Engagement and credibility with key stakeholders

This is an incredibly complex and intricate matrix organisation where quality accountability and compliance are fundamental. Cost management, cost containment and adding value are far more subtle than more traditional larger corporate's. Contract Management, Commercial wisdom and experience developing Sourcing Strategies with wide ranging and diverse teams will be critical to your success in the role. Winning hearts and minds will be vital to you being able to add value as the Procurement Director.
