Role: Logistics Segment Category Manager, Supplier Multi-Region Lead

Salary: £60k + bonus + car + package

Location: You can be based anywhere in the UK - a fully remote role

Travel: 40% travel

Strong opportunity for a Procurement/Logistics/SRM manager to join as a Cluster Leader with three European regions reporting into you, who you'll further mentor and support. You will be a SME across all aspects of supplier management and spearhead the creation of an environment to support Regional Logistics and Supply Chain Management to drive value through strategic partnerships with key Logistics Partners and support the development of the Partner Strategy.

  1. Europe Strategic Supplier Management:

* Create, develop, deliver and manage a world-class logistics partner/supplier strategy

* Identify new suppliers in new regions/products/capabilities to ensure our supplier base is current, forwards focused and 'best in class'
* Manage KEY (Top 25) suppliers at CEO or Board level
* Work closely with Commercial and Legal teams across the region
* Lead supplier and technical innovation and best practice to deliver key Transport and Infrastructure projects and integrated logistics solutions
* Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress
* Own Health & Safety performance of the supplier group across the European region
* Drive sustainability and CSR within the supply base

  1. Group Procurement Responsibilities:

* Work closely with Regional Logistics Managers to share expertise with Senior and executive country to create, implement and oversee performance management
* Management of large scale RFQ activities
* Develop RFQ capability by innovative development of tools, workflows and analytics

* Monitor the heartbeat of the 'market' and the suppliers within it to ensure that data and information is current and relevant and that DSS takes advantage of all opportunities and minimizes the impacts of market issues


* 5+ years of relevant work experience in a consultancy or Logistics Operation

* Knowledge of logistics marketplace, its development, strategic direction and the key players

* Recent experience of running and operating large scale RFQ's in a logistics and transport environment

* Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management experience

* Excellent written and spoken English
