Job Title: Senior Commercial Officer

Location: Edinburgh Scotland (remote / hybrid working available)

Base Salary: Circa £40-£45K

Core Function:

Ideally office based in Edinburgh (post covid) the core function of this role is to provide assistance and rigour to the contracts team supporting the wider group procurement strategy. Including but not limited to drafting, negotiating and detailed administrative tasks associated with complex terms and conditions of contract, working with procurement to ensure appropriate flow down to subcontractors and suppliers operating within the Defence Industry.

Experience Required:


Drafting and reviewing agreements such as Non-Disclosure Agreements, Software Licensing Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding. Providing commercial support and administration to projects and/or contracts, including change control management, monitoring performance of contractual obligations and management of commercial risk.

  • Extensive commercial experience across highly regulated industry and effective stakeholder management
  • Understanding of export legislation, import taxes and duties
  • Experienced in the manufacturing or technology sectors, managing associated sub-contractors and suppliers in support of contract management procurement
  • Understanding of basic business finance, profit and loss, margin and mark up, escalation, foreign exchange

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Officer with strong contractual compliance experience and an ability to draught and review legal documents and agreements to join a leading global manufacturing business operating within the Aerospace/Defence Industry.

Experience within highly regulated safety critical environments is key, including Aerospace, Aviation or Automotive related industries.t. Knowledge of UK MoD DEFCONS and US FARS and DFARS and associated flow downs including ITAR and other related compliance and regulation is critical.
