This role offers a junior procurement professional the chance to join a dynamic procurement function with an experienced and welcoming senior leadership team. The organisation has recently transformed its procurement function which will provide excellent career-building experience.
Excitingly, where the client has a strong investment strategy to drive plant improvements, productivity and expansions - the main scope of the role centres around the procurement of machinery, spare parts, maintenance and services.
The role:
- Collaborate with the Group Procurement function on strategies and implementing projects for the Country
- Conduct tactical buying activities within the defined governance of the operations team (e.g. non-strategic transactions, supporting one-off transactions with preferred suppliers, etc.)
- Conduct local market research (suppliers and products) and assists with defining their needs
- Communicate ideas for improvement to internal customers and global category managers
- Follow up on the gains achieved via the internal reporting tool (Provalido)
- Address cluster/site queries and conducts supplier follow-ups relating to the Procure to Pay process
- Operate according to procurement policies, contracts, procedures, processes, guidelines and regulations
- Support Category Management Teams as needed (e.g., strategy input, supplier feedback, etc.)
- Act as a business partner and primary point of contact for site/cluster level
- Build a strong relationship with the business and attend business meetings at a site/cluster level
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a master data management framework and governance
- Ensure appropriate classification of data and associated controls to mitigate risk
- Manage master data system in accordance with the guideline for this category
Requirements:
- c2+ years of relevant Procurement experience in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working within a production, manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong negotiating, influencing and communication skills
- Ideally educated to Degree level
