Job Title: Interim Procurement Manager

Rate: £400 p/d

Location: Chesterfield - hybrid working

Client: Public sector organisation

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced interim Senior Procurement Professional to deliver essential procurement support to senior leaders, enabling cost-effective and compliant contracts that deliver significant savings.

Location:

This role will be based within the Town Hall in Chesterfield, with an expectation of working in the office 3 days per week. The remainder of the time can be worked remotely, following the initial induction period.

Key Qualifications:

  • Full MCIPS qualification or a degree in Procurement and Supply Chain.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a public sector procurement environment, preferably within local government.
  • Operational understanding of public procurement legislation.
  • Experience using procurement frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a busy environment.
  • Experience analyzing procurement data.
  • Ability to identify procurement and supply chain risks.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Sourcing categories such as ICT, Facilities Maintenance, Professional Services, Construction, and Minor Works.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise budget managers and senior leaders on sourcing strategies.
  • Support market engagement activities.
  • Draft tender and specification documents.
  • Manage the end-to-end tender process using e-procurement software (Proactis).
  • Conduct evaluation and mediation meetings.
  • Draft contract documents and write detailed reports.
  • Communicate with suppliers through e-procurement software (Proactis).
  • Ensure all tender activities comply with national procurement legislation and organizational policies.
