Job Description: a.i Strategic Cost Engineer - Construction

Location: Schiphol Airport

Hourly Rate: Up to €115ph

Contract length: To 31st December 2024

Hours: 24-36 hours per week

This is an exciting Strategic Cost Engineer role to ensure and safeguard cost management for the entire project portfolio of the Royal Schiphol Group. This is realized through high-quality industry standards of cost indication & estimation processes. Safeguarding and thereby calculating project, product and/or service costs along the supply chain and customer added value from an End 2 End Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) perspective.

You'll support business projects by achieving full transparency of the total cost of projects and/or services at benchmark levels. You'll also support Asset Management and Project Management.

to achieve price reductions by providing detailed cost structures, estimations, benchmark figures and identify project cost drivers for project/services design optimizations.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and improve the cost database repository
• Prepare the category team to conduct price negotiations with suppliers by verifying supplier cost estimates
• Create documents that support the negotiations, and be prepared to assist in negotiations
• Conduct outside-in analyses of project costs
• Provide training to internal Schiphol Group stakeholder
• Support quality, cost and planning efficiency programs
• Perform (competitive) project teardowns and conduct independent project or service Cost estimates, plus generate and discuss value engineering ideas with the relevant stakeholders in ASM, PLUS, SRE
• Creating cost indications and estimates for (probabilistic and TCO) A++, A, B1 projects
• Support aviation law projects
• Improve cost management process over all departments of Royal Schiphol Group

Requirements:

• Strategic cost management experience
• Language required: Both Dutch and English (B2 level verbal and written)
• If successful, an AVID Civil Aviation Security Screening will be conducted
