Role: Interim Project Planner

Client: Major grid solutions provider

Location: Rugby

Rate: £25 p/h inside IR35

Contract length: 6 months

Description: Most important responsibilities/tasks

  • Support Project Managers by developing and maintaining project schedules.
  • Develop supporting material where required, such as loading and earned value analyses, and take responsibility as needed for regular monthly project reporting.
  • Support ITO bidding teams by developing and maintaining proposal schedules to support our tenders to customers.
  • Producing schedules in Primavera P6 where dictated by the nature of the project or a customer contractual requirement, but also supporting Project Managers and ITO sales teams where they are using MS Project, both directly, by setting up the initial issue of the plan for new projects, and indirectly by providing guidance, expertise and encouragement when required.
  • Drive and manage the project schedules.
  • Drive greater inclusion of Customer milestones to ensure our work can proceed to schedule without interruption.
  • Promote scheduling as a key ingredient of successful and well managed projects - actively promoting attention to Planning.

Essential requirements

  • Proficient in the use of Primavera P6.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Project and Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience and judgement needed to dynamically strike the optimum balance between detail and practical usefulness of schedules.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • The ability to interface with people at all levels both internally and in Customer and Supplier organisations.
  • Ability to support projects being executed in the UK and globally.
  • Proactive nature with the ability to make things happen.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for Scheduling and an engaging ability to promote planning generally.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities.
