Interim Procurement Manager - Business Services £725pd

Role: Interim Procurement Manager - Business Services (Public Sector Procurement)

Rate: £725 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Client: Major Public Sector Organisation

Location: UK-Wide and Hybrid (2 days per week onsite )

Duration: Initial 12 months (potential extension to 24 months)

The Role:

An Interim Procurement / Commercial Manager to support a major UK public sector organisation, leading complex procurement and contract management activity, within a high-impact commercial environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping procurement strategy under the Procurement Act 2023, working on high-value, high-visibility programmes that drive real public value.

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activity, from early market engagement through to contract award and transition
  • Develop sourcing strategies, tender documentation, and evaluation models
  • Manage contract administration, including variations, change control, and performance mechanisms
  • Ensure supplier performance aligns with commercial and operational expectations
  • Collaborate across government departments to unlock commercial synergies
  • Resolve supplier and stakeholder issues, managing risk and escalation effectively
  • Contribute to the development of category strategies, tools, and best practices
  • Ensure full compliance with public sector governance and procurement legislation

Requirements:

  • Strong experience delivering procurements in multiple, public sector environments
  • Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) and wider procurement regulations
  • Proven ability to manage procurements using a range of procedures
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Strong commercial judgement with evidence-based decision making
  • Confident communicator (written and verbal)
