One of the worlds largest and most innovative sustainable technology firms has an urgent requirement for an Interim Procurement Analyst to join their Procurement function.

This is a initial 3-month interim contract offering up to £400 p/d inside IR35 and majority home working with 1-2 days per week in the Hertfordshire or Teesside offices.

To collate and analyse Procurement Management Information from a variety of sources to generate insights, make business recommendations and enable informed decisions to be made in procurement strategy, planning and development of category plans.

Supports Category Lead / Manager in achieving the goal of significant initial cost reductions by conducting analyses on spend data through various dimensions e.g. volumes, geographical, price trends, should-cost analyses and researching trends in relevant supply markets

Conducts research on economic trends in key supply markets, cross-sector comparisons and monthly status reports

Principal accountabilities

  • Conducting analyses on spend data/researching trends
  • Assisting Category Lead / Manager by conducting supply market research
  • Updating key market indices
  • Assisting in spend data analysis and financial analyses
  • Comparing spend, prices and performance across sectors and sites
  • Assisting in preparing monthly procurement performance status reports
  • Upholding internal and external policies, regulations and law
  • Liaising with procurement staff at all levels to support development of category plans
  • Liaising with procurement staff at all levels to analyse contract spend and trends
  • Creating procurement dashboards providing visibility and insights in to global spend across various dimensions
  • To carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree qualified (preferably finance, business or engineering) and/ or experience in Automotive, FMCG or Chemical procurement
  • Experience of financial analysis, product costing and/or engineering experience (research experience a plus)
  • Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain
  • Excellent analytical (particularly financial) skills and ability to bridge financial data
  • Experience working with a broad range of research tools and technologies
  • Knowledge of commodity markets and associated pricing risk management options
  • Knowledge of products/services and associated processes
  • Highly efficient in use of Microsoft Office Applications, spend analytics and Power BI
