Role: Interim Legal Counsel - Commercial Contracts

Client: Major FMCG organisation

Rate: £600 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Location: Primarily remote, based in Scotland, with occasional visits to the office

Duration: Initial contract to end of December 2024, potential extension to June 2025

An Interim Legal Counsel, to report into the Lead Counsel for Global Procurement and ESG, as a key part of a major, FTSE 100 FMCG organisation.

You will work closely with Procurement stakeholders to support on drafting and negotiating £multi-million contracts with suppliers, for any spends above the threshold.

You will also provide legal advice to Group procurement, deliver tailored training and templates, and support on reputation risk, group litigation, or regulatory issues.

Key areas for investment are in CAPEX and Construction, plus Digital and Technology

Requirements:

• 4-7 years Post-Qualified experience.
• Experienced in Commercial Contracts, ideally Procurement Contracts.
• Ideally some experience with Construction, or IT and Technology contracts.
• Good Commercial mindset, with the ability to maintain strong relationships with Suppliers.
• Commonwealth Law Qualified. Advantageous would be any experience of Irish or Scottish legal jurisdictions.
• Ideally an FMCG background, but candidates should come from In-House (not private practice), with a Consumer focus.
• GB Degree Qualified.
