Job Advertisement: Senior Project Manager - Cloud Migration

Rate: £700 p/d

Contract Length: 6-months

Location Edinburgh (2 days per week onsite)

Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to join our Global Project Delivery team, focusing on the end-to-end management and delivery of change initiatives for key Securities Services clients in the Asset Owner & Management sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Onboarding: Oversee the comprehensive onboarding of clients, ensuring adherence to established project governance, methodologies, and change management frameworks.
  • Project Definition & Approval: Develop detailed project scopes, objectives, business cases, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for clients and internal stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
  • Operational Readiness: Ensure integration of business functions for operational readiness.
  • Project Planning: Create and baseline detailed project plans, including resource allocations and interdependencies.
  • Governance Structures: Implement project governance structures such as Steering Committees and working groups.
  • Resource Management: Forecast, plan, and track resource utilization and ensure accurate resource forecasting.
  • Project Controls & Reporting: Manage project budgets, stage gate approvals, and produce regular status reports.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, analyze, and mitigate project dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Business Strategy Integration: Translate business strategies into actionable deliverables.
  • Client Review Strategy: Collaborate with senior management to optimize client profiles and profitability.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience: Over 8 years of experience in managing multiple parallel projects, preferably in financial services, with robust governance standards.
  • Agile Techniques: Proficient in Agile methodologies and product delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, enhance capabilities, and manage performance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong skills in building relationships with C-suite and senior stakeholders.
  • Client Management: Experience in managing external clients and stakeholders, including regulators.
  • Business Requirements & Testing: Solid understanding of business requirements management and testing processes.
  • Financial Services Knowledge: Experience in fund administration, transfer agency, or investment management with a deep understanding of complex operations and regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Education: A high-quality degree and a professional Change Management/Project Technical Skills:
  • Software Knowledge: Experience with systems such as MultiFonds, Markit EDM, XSP, Charles River, TLM, and Duco is beneficial.
  • Project Management Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and Excel macros.

Additional Requirements:

  • Cloud Migration Experience: Experience in large-scale cloud migrations and data sharing.
  • Operational Reconciliation: Experience in fund accounting and reconciliation with third parties.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Customer Focus: Ensure fair treatment of customers and adhere to best practices in banking principles.
  • Operational Risk: Continually assess and manage operational risks, complying with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
