Interim HR Specialist £425pd - Chinese Language

Role: Senior Employee Relations Manager - Asia Pacific Focus

Rate: £425 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Client: Major Life Sciences

Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Duration: 6 months

An interim opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations professional to make an impact in a global organisation that's shaping the future of healthcare.

The Role:
A Senior Employee Relations Manager to play a pivotal role in managing and advising on employee relations across the UK and Asia-Pacific region (including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore).

You'll partner with senior leaders to drive fair, compliant, and consistent employee relations practices that empower people and strengthen organisational culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted ER advisor, managing complex cases and providing strategic guidance on employment matters.
  • Lead and support workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management, and business change processes.
  • Collaborate closely with regional HR partners across Asia-Pacific to ensure consistent, compliant ER practices.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, including restructures and acquisitions.
  • Identify ER trends and proactively recommend policy or process improvements.
  • Facilitate training and workshops on HR policies and best practices.

Required:

  • Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is required
  • 5+ years' experience in Employee Relations, ideally within international / multi-region environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law; understanding of Asia-Pacific employment practices is a major plus.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable managing sensitive, high-impact situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Confident working independently while building strong relationships across diverse teams.
