Recruiting on behalf of a FTSE100 Pharmaceutical organisation seeking an experienced IT Procurement Manager with a strong track record in sourcing complex, global IT solutions. You MUST have prior experience across procuring a broad range of IT services and delivering significant savings in challenging, multi-layered environments. An excellent opportunity to join a business undergoing significant change within their procurement function.

Job Purpose:

The Global Category Manager (GCM) plans and leads global category initiatives for a clearly defined sub-category or group of sub-categories. The GCM develops the sub-category strategy as part of the wider Category Strategy, leads proactive sourcing projects, specification definition and demand management, as well as managing sub-category specific supplier performance and innovation activities.

Required Experience:

  • 5-10 years minimum experience within procurement, ideally exclusively across the IT category
  • Extensive experience across end-to-end procurement category management, from running RFP processes through to supplier contracts negotiation and implementing KPI's / SLA's for managing supplier performance post-contract award
  • Experience in process improvements and compliance
  • Responsible for the delivery of Procurement Balanced Scorecard Measures
  • Degree within either business administration, finance, law, scientific or technical field
  • CIPS or similar professional qualification (Preferred)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Providing IT sub-category input business functions and markets to inform the top-down target setting process
  • The delivery of IT sub-category targets following engagement in the target setting process
  • The delivery of Procurement Balanced Scorecard Measures for the relevant categories
  • Collecting of supplier, market, category and internal business data and information for categories
  • Provide IT category input and validation to the Global Category Strategy (where appropriate) including facilitating involvement of relevant Stakeholders
  • Communicating distribution of any sub-category specific strategies to the relevant stakeholders
  • Development and execution of projects based on the sub-category strategy and business planning activities to feed into the Annual Procurement Category Plan
  • Ensure the sub-category projects agreed to within the Global Category Strategy are executed in a timely basis in line with the targeted goals
  • Leading pro-active sourcing
  • Establish overall category segmentation and identification of key supplier relationships
  • Implementation of consistent KPI's
  • Managing strategic supplier relationships as agreed in the supplier segmentation
  • Collecting supplier information and feedback from functions, markets, other category teams and relevant procurement team members
  • Proactively managing innovation with strategic suppliers within the sub-category
  • The creation, application and completion and review of major contracts for sub-categories
  • Ensure all category associates involved in operational buying activities have access to the Category process and procedure documentation
  • Ensure all negotiated contracts are clearly communicated for the area to ensure they are consistently applied
  • Monitor compliance and adherence to procurement policies and procedures
  • Ensure any supplier performance risks and issues are resolved on a timely basis to end user satisfaction
