Positions - Interim Finance Reporting Manager
Job details - Ideal candidate will have experience in consolidations and bringing together consolidated accounts, and experience in management. Preferably from Finance sector
Pay rate - £600 to £700 max UMB daily
IR35 status - in scope
Notice period - 3 weeks both sides
Contract length - 8 months
Desired start date - ASAP
Location: Remote working with 1 day per week in the Angel Court, London office
Interview process - 1 interview, competency-based questions focused
Is the role WFH? - hybrid, at least once a week in office
Compliance - Conduct Rules - Non Clinical - Basic DBS

Job Purpose

The Finance Reporting Manager is responsible for working within a team that manages Statutory Reporting process and provides a technical centre of excellence to finance colleagues.

This individual will be responsible for working with the Head of Financial Reporting in:

  • Manage the preparation of the Group's consolidated statutory accounts for Full Year and Half Year.
  • Review of the integrity of the Group consolidation as part of the quarterly / month end close process.
  • Manage the analytical review of financial data submitted as part of the quarterly / monthly end close process.
  • Support in the coordination and production of the Group's Annual Report.
  • Ensure Financial Accounting throughout the Group cois mplies with the latest accounting guidance and promote best practice. This includes the introduction of IFRS 17 from 1 January 2023.
  • Report writing to the Group's Board and sub-committees, bringing to their attention key accounting issues, areas of judgement and technical developments.
  • Provide advice and guidance to facilitate the accounting for complex commercial transactions.
  • Producing an environment of continuous improvement to ensure that all reporting is conducted to the highest possible standard in the most efficient manner.

In addition to the above, this individual will be accountable for the following:

  • Line management for team members, taking a key role in coaching and developing them and the wider team.
  • Be a business partner to the Market Units and Business Units to support their development and delivery to Group Finance of quality financial information
  • Take the lead on high profile commercial projects and ad-hoc tasks, which will provide exposure to senior managers
  • Support the update and testing of the Group consolidation system (Tagetik) and the on-going implementation of Workiva.
  • Work closely with other teams by providing proactive analysis of financial data.

Qualifications, Training and Experience

We are looking for an ambitious individual with excellent communication and technical accounting skills. Planning and prioritising are crucial to the role allowing you to make effective decisions, solve problems and increase efficiency of working.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA)
  • Group reporting/consolidation experience in a large group
  • Clear understanding of financial controls and importance of data integrity
  • Experience of coordinating large processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including preparation of executive presentations
  • Good listening and influencing skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing and ambiguous situations
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • An organised and flexible approach to work
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint; experience of working with financial systems (especially Tagetik, Workiva) an advantage
