One of the worlds largest and most innovative sustainable technology firms has an urgent requirement for an Interim Finance Business Partner.

This is an interim 6-month initial contract offering up to £525 p/d inside IR35 with hybrid working 1-2 days per week in Paddington.

Job purpose

This is an exciting, fixed term, Commercial Finance Business Partner role for a contractor to provide finance support to the commercial and engineering teams within the Licensing business. The role will support in all aspects of commercial finance including monthly financial, pricing & profitability, forecasting & budgeting, working closely with the commercial and financial control teams in particular. The licensing business is forecast to deliver c. £100m revenue (c.15% of total CT) in FY24, with significant growth expected through opportunities in sustainable technologies over the coming years.

This role is a fixed term contract role to support a key member of the commercial finance team who will be spending some of their time on a key systems transformation programme.

Principal accountabilities

Be part of a team of finance partners to the commercial, markets and engineering teams for the Licensing business

Contribute to the sales and profitability budgeting process with regards to the preparation and analysis of commercial finance plans driven from the demand forecasts.

Work with the sales and demand teams to support preparing rolling sales forecasts, assessing and commenting on the risk and providing mitigations where appropriate to ensure the business delivers on its forecast promise

Drive ongoing improvements in financial results through use of business performance reviews & analytics and working closely with the commercial teams to implement actions that deliver improved financial results

Prepare materials for regular Business Performance Review meetings attended by senior CT Business Leaders and present financials and KPIs for that meeting

Build business knowledge and relationships to efficiently support and challenge commercial business performance including pricing and profitability

Be proactive in optimising existing tools and processes for forecasting, budgeting and reporting and identifying efficiencies in ways of working to avoid unnecessary manual interventions and analysis

Support work to extract key commercial terms from contracts and agreements and identify correct revenue recognition treatment according to company policies and IFRS.

Providing support to a key commercial finance team

Needs to be able to quickly learn ways of working across a matrix organisation to maintain and improve processes and tools in forecasting, budgeting and reporting and to provide information & support on analysis and decision-making

Requirements:

Fully qualified Accountant ACMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent

Significant post-qualification experience in a large commercial organisation

Knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes and tools - improvements and best practice

Excellent IT and analysis skills (Excel etc)
