I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Major Technology Firm who require an Interim Direct Buyer to join their growing Powertrain team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own and manage a complex range of commodities including the development and delivery of commodity strategies
* Identify and source supply partners, ensuring alignment with the departmental sourcing process and targets
* Provide cost analysis and ensure all risks and opportunities are captured and managed
* Manage the sourcing process from market research through to supplier nomination and contract award
* Contract management of nominated supplemented by a drive to constantly seek improvements in cost, delivery and quality
* Support a continuous improvement programme to advance procurement processes, governance and capabilities across the group
Person Specification:
* Experience in a direct procurement function within a manufacturing environment. Automotive would be an advantage but not essential
* Confident, articulate and experienced working at pace in a highly dynamic and fast moving business environment
* An adept cross functional team worker with a proven track record of successful stakeholder manager
* Ability to build and develop strategic supply relationships across a highly diverse range of commodities and supply markets
* Advanced negotiation and clear communication skills evidenced
* An international mindset is desirable. Previous experience working with different cultures would be an advantage
* Previous project management / programme management would be welcome but not essential
