Interim Communications Manager

Interim Communications Manager required for initial 6 month contract to support a financial services client undergoing a global technology transformation.

Role:

The role sits in the Technology function - which manages one the largest Technology investment portfolios globally. The Programme and Portfolio Management practice is at the heart of managing the change agenda across Technology. Working with all of the Business Units, Functions and Regions to oversee the effective delivery of programmes and projects and continuously improve the way the bank deliver in adopting agile ways of working.

Responsibilities:
-Supporting Communication & Culture Lead with developing communication strategy for the transformation and creating communication plan
-Working with key stakeholders to execute communication strategy
-Create communications plug-in with technology vehicles across Tech, allowing for employees to receive and engage with the transformation via share sites

The scope of the role therefore includes:

-Developing core messages that meet the business goals for transformation and customizes core messaging for
diverse audiences. Ensure communications consistency among different stakeholders
-Design and continually improve internal communication mechanisms/processes to enable internal dialogue around best practices and knowledge sharing
-Develop engaging communication methods that resonate with employees to reinforce and celebrate progress
and success
-Serve as the primary interface with internal communications
-Identify key stakeholders and plan communication, cadence, and engagement
-Assist Transformation Leader and other leaders as needed, in preparation for monthly or quarterly meetings with key stakeholders
-Partner with Platform Leads to discuss communication needs and objectives, and develop themes and approaches accordingly
-Provide sample communication material (e.g., toolkits; templates; frameworks) to Platform Leads to enable customized communication
-Track, measure, analyse and deliver reports on current communications efforts

The role involves facing-off to senior stakeholders in the course of eliciting requirements, syndicating outputs and providing preparatory materials for Executive forums.

The ideal candidate would be expected to have:

-At least 5 years of experience working to a high quality output at significant pace
-Experience in building large-scale communication plans, especially Agile and/or DevOps communications
-Good understanding of the Tech's key constituents and their communication processes
-End-to-end communication program management skills
-Thoughtful strategic capability combined with action orientation
-Excellent presentation, communication and listening skills
