Role

Reporting to the SHEQ Director, the Health & Safety Senior Officer will be responsible for leading and overseeing workplace health and safety programmes to ensure full compliance with local legislation, industry standards, and internal policies. This role is central to driving a strong, proactive safety culture at the NL site, while also supporting activities across Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Management: Lead the development and implementation of Risk Inventory & Evaluation for the Netherlands and risk assessments for German sites. Ensure Safe Systems of Work and procedures comply with Dutch and German legislation and internal lifesaving rules.
• Incident Management: Investigate incidents, injuries, and high-potential near misses. Ensure statutory notifications to relevant Dutch and German authorities are completed accurately and on time.
• Compliance & Auditing: Conduct internal audits against the safety management system and lifesaving rules. Monitor compliance with national legislation and accident prevention regulations.
• Contractor Safety: Maintain and improve contractor management systems, ensuring compliance with site safety requirements.
• Chemical Safety: Ensure chemical management systems meet Dutch and German hazardous substances regulations.
• Training & Awareness: Deliver mandatory safety training, including emergency response, lock-out/tag-out, and PPE use. Maintain accurate training records in line with legal and internal requirements.

Experience & Qualifications

• Ideally you will bring a minimum of 3 years' experience in health and safety roles within manufacturing or industrial environments
• Hold relevant Health and Safety Qualifications such as VCA-B recognised in the Netherlands or Germany
• Strong knowledge of Dutch Arbowet and German Arbeitsschutzgesetz requirements
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbal
