I am currently working with one of Europe's leading companies within the fast moving FMCG Food sector. Employing over 800 staff they have offices across Europe and a large presence in Germany and the UK.

They are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious, Head of Buying with ambition to help take the company to the next level, as they expand at a high pace across the UK and Europe.

• Spend real time with the operating businesses - sit with buyers, join supplier meetings, get under the skin of how decisions actually get made
• Pick up the phone, negotiate, and start driving value from day one
• Spot and act on quick wins as you find them: pricing, consolidation, contracts
• Build relationships with local buyers and operators on the ground

• Design and implement a group-wide buying framework: governance, policies, benchmarking, and KPIs
• Assess and take ownership of their spend transparency initiatives
• Consolidate suppliers where it makes sense and negotiate group-level terms
• Build scalable processes and, eventually, a small central buying function

Experience required

• Proven track record in procurement or buying, ideally in a multi-site, fragmented, or PE-backed environment
• Experience building a purchasing function from scratch
• Category experience in raw meat, protein, or ingredients

Fluent in German and English

This role requires a lot of travel in Europe
