Job Title: Global Procurement Category Manager - Chemicals and Strategic Raw Materials

Location: Central London

Hybrid: 3 days office, 2 days work from home

Salary: £competitive + bonus and package

A leading chemical manufacturing brand with a global footprint is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join its team and manage the procurement of chemicals and strategic raw materials. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and make an impact on their global procurement operations.

As the Procurement Manager for Chemicals and Strategic Raw Materials, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of chemicals and strategic raw materials for their global operations. This role will require a strategic mindset to optimize spend, drive savings, and manage supplier relationships. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, including C-Suite to manage category planning, supplier performance, trading, KPI's, and monthly forecasts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for chemicals and strategic raw materials
  • Negotiate high-spend contracts with suppliers to ensure favourable terms and conditions
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery of goods
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to measure category performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure procurement needs are met
  • Analyse market trends and identify new opportunities for cost savings and efficiency
  • Manage a team of procurement professionals to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Experience procuring chemicals or similar raw materials
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on chemicals and strategic raw materials, or similar
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage supplier relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to analyse data and identify trends
  • Experience with procurement systems and processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, STEM subjects, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related field
