1st Executive have been appointed to find the next member of the Global Regulatory Policy & Advisory (GRPA) team with one of our leading Financial Services clients. The team establishes regulatory capital policies and advises business lines on their impact. Operating globally they provide technical regulatory support to mitigate risks across various transactions and regulatory issues, helping to shape the future of the business.

Role Overview: This exceptional opportunity is to join the team to track and distribute ESG regulatory developments, offering expert technical support to the business. This role supports our client's commitment to financing and investing in the transition to a net-zero global economy, ensuring timely notification of emerging ESG regulations and their impact on regulatory capital, reporting, and disclosure requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and interpret new ESG-related policies, providing detailed guidance to stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of ESG regulations, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
  • Research and influence the development of future ESG regulatory policies by drafting responses to proposed standards.

Impact:

  • Advise on regulatory and disclosure implications of ESG policy developments.
  • Interpret and communicate ESG regulations to stakeholders.
  • Review and disseminate relevant regulatory papers and brief senior management on changes.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work collaboratively across the business to embed ESG frameworks and resolve challenges.
  • Lead projects within GRPA and ESG teams.
  • Provide advice on broader regulatory issues and manage projects effectively.

Challenges:

  • Adapt to fast-changing ESG regulations in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Innovate and problem-solve under tight deadlines.
  • Manage multiple deliverables in a rapidly evolving space.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Ideally experience with ESG reporting and regulatory initiatives (e.g., TCFD, ISSB, CSRD).
  • Knowledge of regulatory capital rules and reporting (Basel, EU, PRA).
  • Understanding of green finance products and their regulatory treatment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across a global multi-location team.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to coach and positively influence others within the team and deputise for the current team leader when required.
