Role: Energy & Carbon Manager - Procurement
Location: Vienna, Austria
Hybrid: 1-2 days office, 3-4 days remote

Excellent opportunity to join a strong energy/procurement team, within a global, agile and environmentally focused manufacturing business. You'll report to the global Head of Energy and develop this strategic category by driving initiatives that secure sustainable and profitable growth.
You will ideally have at least 3 years of commodity trading/energy procurement experience, alongside experience with Carbon Certificate Markets, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), Guarantees of Origin (GOs), Emissions Trading Systems (ETS) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
You will manage a significant portfolio as the Senior Portfolio Manager (SPM), which will include centrally hedged Carbon Portfolios, the negotiation of Energy Purchase Agreements (EPAs) and the handling of supply contract portfolios.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and optimize the certificate hedging activities provided by a third party.
- Manage carbon footprint elements including GOs, RECs, PPAs…
- Implement operational procedures and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
- Monitor limits, reporting any breaches to management for resolution.
- Ensure compliance with Treasury procedures, dealing mandates and external regulations
- Manage carbon allowances accounts at both a global and a national level
- Assist with internal and external audits and reviews.
- Manage the rollout and successful implementation of Energy projects that are centrally initiated
- Negotiate with third parties for successful project rollouts
- Provide status reports and participate in steering-committees
- Initiate and present business cases for central-managed projects
- Manage energy supply contract negotiations for whole regions
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of commodity trading/energy procurement experience
- Experience ideally including:
- Carbon Certificate Markets
- Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)
- Guarantees of Origin (GOs)
- Emissions Trading Systems (ETS)
- Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
- Technical or natural science background desirable
- Courses in commodity trading/risk management
- Strong knowledge of Emission and Carbon roadmaps
