Role: Deputy Head of Procurement

Location: Birmingham (hybrid working with 3 days in the office per week)

Salary: £48,526 - £54,619 + Benefits (the client will pay at the top of the pay scale for the right candidate)

Are you looking for an exciting role working as part of a progressive and forward thinking Procurement Team where you can take the lead on identifying commercial issues and key commodity areas, working to promote and support Procurement development within the department. If so, then this exciting Deputy Head of Procurement position may well give your career that next uplift.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement you will be responsible for providing dedicated procurement support to all Divisions. You will work with them to identify, develop and deliver credible work plans and cost improvement programmes within agreed timescales, ensuring all procurement activity is undertaken in accordance with public procurement legislation as well as standing financial instructions and standing orders.

With 3 direct reports, you will act as a role model within the procurement team, sharing knowledge, skills and expertise and providing formal and informal training/mentoring as required.

You will also establish, develop and maintain relationships between Senior Stakeholders to improve service delivery and to help drive the pace and delivery of efficiency programmes and cost improvement programmes and influence and support Divisions with procurement decisions.

You will deputise as and when required for the Head of Procurement and other members of the Senior Management Team and effectively manage and lead your Category Procurement Team in delivery of all required objectives and influencing colleagues and stakeholders in order to deliver the best value outcome.
