My client is a member of the FTSE 100 index and is the UK's largest long-term savings and retirement business, who hires and develops the most passionate people in their field to help build a better working world and is currently looking for a dynamic and motivated Senior Engagement Analyst specialised in Climate Change.

The role is a paternity leave coverage to join vibrant and diverse Sustainable Investments Team. The successful candidate will join a team who strongly embraces the concept of effective stewardship to drive corporate change in the best interest of the customers. This person will play a significant role in implementing our climate change engagement programme in support of their decarbonisation goals.

This role will entail conducting engagement activities with investee companies on key identified sectors either internally, through direct, collaborative engagements or via our asset management partners.

Your challenges include:

  • Undertaking engagement activities on climate change with focus companies in highly emitting sectors either directly or through collaborative engagements.
  • Developing sector specific expectations to inform engagement objectives and drive communications with companies and asset manager partners.
  • Monitoring and assessing climate change engagement activities undertaken by asset managers partners on behalf of client.
  • Contributing to identify relevant historic and forward-looking climate change data points across service providers to define engagement priorities and monitor companies' performance.
  • Analysing and reviewing emerging and current regulation/standards on climate change across key markets.

To be successful in this role, you

  • Relevant industry experience on corporate engagement and climate change.
  • Ability to lead and deliver on each of the key objectives of the role identified above, working to strict deadlines. and to the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to develop successful relationships and collaborate across a wide range of (internal and external) stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle and analyse quantitative data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion.
