Role: Category Manager - Production Equipment

Salary: €80-110k + competitive package

Location: Amsterdam or Dublin.

Flexible Working: 2-3 days work from home

Excellent opportunity to join the leading manufacturing businesses in their field, experiencing significant growth, as a Category Manager for Production Equipment. Procurement is young with few processes, offering the right candidate freedom to operate and will allow you to define the category in your vision. You will drive category strategy

You will manage procurement for Production Equipment across the main company and the several additional operating companies that all fall under the remit of this role, equalling progression opportunities in central procurement, global roles, procurement excellence and roles within the operating companies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manages assigned category in region by leading cross-functional and cross-regional team
  • Accountability for results at regional level
  • Act as interface with countries (communications to countries and from the countries will be done through the Regional Category Manager)
  • Responsible for implementing category strategy on OpCo/Business level
  • Tailor category strategy to needs of Division, define Division priorities and align priorities with countries
  • Collection of needs from OpCos including data for benchmarking
  • Executes multi-local initiatives (e.g., tenders)
  • Lead Country Category Manager with country or regional processes
  • Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers in the category
  • Drive the realization of savings, efficiency, quality, and process improvements
  • Work on CX projects and approval process incl. close collaboration with the GDS team


  • 5-10 years of strategic end to end procurement experience
  • Experience of procuring production equipment or similar CAPEX items
  • Experience managing a Category in a large international company, or, have Category Management as a logical progression opportunity
  • Strong experience of managing stakeholders in a diverse environment - multiple business units, languages, cultures
  • Ability to operate in an unstructured working environment - comfortable with change and uncertainty
  • Prior experience in energy and fuels procurement in the spot and forward markets.
