Category Manager - Convenience Retail - £350 to 450 per day

My client, a global leader in oil and gas, are seeking an experienced Category Manager in Convenience Retail, to join their team on an interim basis for an initial 5 months, paying up to £450 per day depending on experience. This role can be based in London or Buckinghamshire.

Role:

The Category Manager is responsible for end to end category performance, strategy and implementation, ensuring optimisation and fufilment of business requirements

You will:

• Use market expertise to create transformative category strategies
• Create effective implementation plans and support implementation to agreed timelines
• Hold accountability for sourcing, negotiation and contract activity
• Effectively engage with and manage business stakeholders, securing buy-in
• Manage relaitonships with key regional and global suppliers
• Oversee contract management and performance reporting
  
  

Requirements:

• 7-10 years' related experience in Category Management, sourcing, contracting, tactical procurement and supplier management
• Strong skills of commercial negotiation and influence
• Demonstrable ability to manage key stakeholders, to gain buy-in and resources
• University degree in a technical or relevant business discipline required, or equivalent work experience
• Experience working in cross-functional, cross-geographical teams across multiple sites
• Experience with e-procurement tools and P2P processes
