Excellent opportunity for a Category Manager who has experience within Construction to build and grow your career.

A leading private utilites company are recruiting for a catergory Manager to join their Major capital projects team to help build and drive the procurement team.

There will be a mix of WFH and Office base required.

Purpose.

  • Develop and agree category specific strategies with the Senior Category Manager, aligning with the Procurement strategy and value management strategies to deliver sustainable value and minimise total cost of ownership
  • Lead development of spend and supplier profiles for the category
  • Work with the Sourcing team and Supplier and Contract Management team to ensure alignment with category strategy and that lessons learnt downstream are fed back into future category spend

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Senior Category Manager and business leads to deliver category specific strategies, using engagement with the business and relevant analytics to inform activities
  • Establish collaborative relationships internally and externally to align approaches, engage Procurement early in third party spend, and seek additional opportunities to maximise value 10% 4. Drive continuous improvement and translate external best practices, innovation, and ideas into actionable proposals and plans for the business

Knowledge/ Experience.

  • Strong category management and managerial experience
  • In depth category experience for at least one of the below categories: o E&C o Asset purchase and hire (process & hire) o Indirect (IT, telecoms, HR, professional services, facilities & business services) o Operational service delivery
  • Evidence of successful development and delivery of category strategy

Traits

  • Commercial awareness and excellent analytical, planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent category strategy development skills - ability to develop compelling category and sourcing strategies
  • Knowledge of UCR requirements and ABC (Anti-Bribery & Corruption) legislation
