My client, a Global leader in the manufacturing space with hundreds of production sites in the UK alone is searching for a Capex Procurement Manager to join their team. You will join a collaborative team that enjoy working together and foster a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
This is a pivotal role designed to lead all facets of capital investment projects across UK Business Lines and offers opportunities for progression. The position involves tendering, negotiating, and contracting, adopting a comprehensive approach to investment project management, and delivering exceptional service levels in purchasing agreements.
The CAPEX spans a range of different areas such as new build construction, production equipment, trucks and yellow machinery, carbon capture technology etc.
Excitingly, the client is adopting AI across procurement, making this a fantastic opportunity to develop in this area.
You will:
- Implement strategic sourcing and create negotiation strategies that align with company policies, ensuring comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communication
- Formulate effective sourcing strategies, establish selection criteria, and manage relationships with approved suppliers to achieve optimal cost, service, and quality
- Oversee the CAPEX project tender processes, from initial evaluation through to legal contract development, particularly focusing on major assets and plant machinery
- Cultivate collaborative relationships with internal teams, legal departments, and the Global Sourcing team to develop contracts and meet procurement objectives
- Maintain operational continuity by managing purchasing contracts and coordinating with business units to maximize value
- Monitor supplier performance against Service Level Agreements and provide actionable feedback to vendors
- Promote continuous development and improvement by staying informed on market trends and introducing innovative procurement methods
Requirements:
- 5 years of procurement experience, including end-to-end strategic procurement
- Track record of procuring capital expenditure, with a technical mindset
- Comfortable with Excel Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPS (this is NOT a data analyst role, though excel skills are advantageous)
- Be agile and curious, always looking for an innovative solution
