I am currently working with one of the fastest growing segments of FMCG right now who are proud to be Europe's leading company within the sector employing 800 plus staff.

They are seeking an experienced Buying & Planning Manager to oversee stock management, procurement, and production planning for their diverse product portfolio. This is a key role in their Benelux market, ensuring seamless supply chain operations, maintaining 100% stock availability, and optimizing supplier relationships to drive profitability while upholding our commitment to product quality.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, managing global suppliers with varying lead times and contributing to the growth of our pet food offerings. The role also involves playing a pivotal part in managing new product development projects (e.g., sourcing suppliers) and keeping track of overall product profitability. For keen candidates, there are excellent development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of a large and complex portfolio of products for resale, sourcing from suppliers worldwide with diverse lead times.
  • Oversee production planning and repackaging processes to guarantee timely production and 100% stock availability at all times.
  • Handle end-to-end supplier relationships, including supplier selection, performance management, and onboarding new or replacement suppliers as needed.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to safeguard profitability, ensuring cost efficiencies without compromising on product quality standards.
  • Lead aspects of new product development projects, such as sourcing and qualifying suppliers, coordinating timelines, and ensuring alignment with market needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and implement strategies to minimize stockouts or overstock situations.

Key experience gained within the FMCG Industry

  • +5 years of experience in managing buying, procurement, or portfolio management in a supply chain or operations role.
  • Experience in international sourcing and dealing with varying lead times.
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiation, inventory management, and production planning.
